• Member of Team USA in 1987. Silver Medalist in the Junior World Games. Named Most Outstanding Left Hand Pitcher of the games. • Attended Georgia Tech from 1987-1991. Set school records for career Wins & Strikeouts. • Inducted into the Georgia Tech Hall of Fame in 2001. • Member of Team USA in 1989. • Drafted in 1990 by the California Angels (5th round). • Drafted and signed in 1991 by the St. Louis Cardinals (7th round). • Member of 3 minor league All Star Teams (1993 Cardinals, 1997 Giants, 1999 Cubs). • Member of 2 minor league Championship Teams (1995 Cardinals, 2005 Tigers). • Major League debut in 1995 with the Cardinals. • Played parts of 9 seasons with 7 different Major League Teams (Cardinals, Giants, Cubs, Devil Rays, Mariners, Blue Jays, Tigers). • Spent 1 year in the Japanese Professional League with the Hanshin Tigers in 1998 Doug officially retired in 2006, ending a 15 year professional career. He is a licensed captain, fishing guide and tournament fisherman. Doug has learned the art of pitching from some
of the best, including: Bob Gibson, Dick Pole, Rick Mahler, John
Tudor, Chuck Hernandez, Gil Patterson, Bob Cluck, Larry Rothschild,
